COMPENSATION: $60,632-$75,000 annually PLUS BENEFITS* 

SCHEDULE: FLEXIBLE, MON- FRI 8:30 AM-6 PM. For licensed providers, other schedules may be available.

Who We Serve

Full Spectrum currently serves over 300 clients, ranging from youth and adolescents to adults and elders as well as couples and families. Over 90% of our clients are on Medicaid, which means we uniquely serve a population that otherwise may not have access to high-quality gender-affirming mental health services. 

We offer several therapeutic groups that are formed in response to community needs and provider passions; these groups offer our clinicians an opportunity to work together to explore a particular modality (such as somatics or art therapy) or mental health experience (such as social anxiety). While working at Full Spectrum, our clinicians are empowered to continue their professional journeys with our support. *Compensation will be based on years of experience, licensure type, and/or quantity/quality of KSA relevant to the position. Please note that FST offers a generous benefits package valued at +35% of the base salary.

Job Summary

Clinical Therapist I provides culturally responsive, specialized outpatient mental health treatment to LGBTQ+ children, adolescents, adults, and their families from all backgrounds. Therapists offer evaluation, individual, group, relationship, family counseling, and/or case management. Timely documentation of clinical services consistent with program standards and relevant OARs is required.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Complete thorough assessments, treatment plans, case notes, and other written documentation within 24 hours of service deliveryProvide gender affirming medical and surgical care evaluations and letters of support 

  • Coordinate client care with client providers as needed 

  • Provide high quality counseling to a diverse set of clients (individual, group, family and relationship counseling) 

  • Provide case management, consultation, care coordination, referrals, community resources and other services necessary to ensure quality care for your clients

  • Examine and apply anti-oppression factors in clinical work 

  • Maintain professional ethical standards and abide by best practices

  • Effectively maintain the electronic health record for each client ensuring documentation meet all compliance standards 

  • Utilize the electronic health record system for scheduling, file management, communication with clients, and other needs that arise for your clients

  • Practice mandatory abuse reporting and abide by HIPAA standards 

  • Schedule and coordinate care directly with clients 

  • Manage and maintain a minimum caseload of 25 clinical hours per week

  • Accurately report client and clinical contact hours 

  • Participate in Full Spectrum Therapy Pride events

Professional Development 

  • Participate in clinical supervision and continuing education as required by licensing board and state contracts and training that develops clinical skills.

  • Participate in formal and informal education around anti-oppression and intersectionality issues.

  • Join a close-knit multidisciplinary team with mandatory weekly team meetings, bi-monthly group supervision/consultation, and regular community-building activities.

Your Experience

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Education: 

    • Master's degree or higher (Required) such as:

      • Graduate degree in psychology, art or music therapy, behavioral science field or similar education acceptable 

  • License: 

    • Hold an active license to practice (LPC, PCA, LMFT, LCSW, CSWA, or similar) in the State of Oregon

    • Psychologist and Psychologist Associates welcome to apply; compensation will be commensurate with status

    • Art Therapists must be registered with the Health Licensing Office

  • Must pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, before starting

  • Fluent in English language at a clinical level

    • Preference to those with second language fluency at a clinical level

  • Fully vaccinated with booster against COVID-19. FST follows all legal requirements with regard to accommodations

  • Must carry professional liability insurance (1m/3m) minimum

Applicants must have cultural competence in working with the LGBTQ+ community, as demonstrated by the following:

  • Knowledge of the impacts of oppression and persecution on mental health and daily functioning

  • Knowledge of WPATH Standards of Care and best practices for gender-related needs. Comfort providing services in alignment with WPATH SoC and industry-wide best practices.

  • Skill in trauma-informed care

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in providing evidence-based treatment of mental health disorders

  • Experience providing care to transgender/gender diverse people and their families and/or have personal, familial, or deep friendship experiences within the transgender/gender diverse community.

  • Basic computer knowledge for the implementation of client information electronic record keeping. Proficient with GSuite and Zoom.

Working Conditions

This position requires occasional attendance at in-person staff meetings with the option for therapy to be performed in person or via telehealth. A successful candidate can expect to provide a minimum of 55% of the available clinical time as direct therapeutic service hours within 90 days of employment. This includes a minimum requirement of 25 clinical hours per week. 

Due to the nature of working with people of varied developmental ages and stages, physical demands may vary significantly from client to client. Physical demands may include standing, sitting in chairs or the floor, walking 0.5 miles unassisted, wearing a mask for extended periods, using vision, hearing, dexterity, and the ability to lift ten pounds. Repetitive motion and varied treatment environments may occur. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the position's essential functions without compromising client care.
