(They/Them)
Professional Counselor Associate
Mental health and wellness, is not a destination, but a lifelong practice. We are currently living in exceptionally difficult times, with numerous sources of stress and difficulty. During this period of change and uncertainty, it is imperative that all people endeavor to attend to their psychological needs. My role as a counselor is to provide you with support on your personal journey. My approach is rooted in feminist theory, narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and client-centered humanism. This means that I use a collaborative approach in determining a course of treatment. In therapy, we will explore how your past experiences and external forces influence the struggles you are currently experiencing. We will work together to help you become the person you know you can be.
Counseling can provide relief from present challenges; it can also contribute to better mental, social, and spiritual wellness.
In addition to psychology, my education has focused on gender studies; particularly transgender and gender-diverse identities. My goal is to serve the LGBTQ2SIA+ community as a Counselor and advocate for progressive change. I work to interrupt and stand in opposition to racism, sexism, agism, ableism, sizeism, religious discrimination, and binary paradigms. I am trained and experienced with working with individuals, couples, and groups.
I am a white, genderqueer, assigned male at birth, pansexual, psychology student. I have and do experience many identities of privilege. I am also a parent, a student, a gamer, and an artist. I have had the benefit of living in numerous places across the United States, but I have spent most of my life in Colorado. I have a strong appreciation for the outdoors, and connecting with nature as a source of spiritual enrichment. I enjoy cooking and eating, role playing games, and cycling.
I would be honored to meet with you, and support you in the creation of the story that you will share with the world.
As a Professional Counselor Associate, I am supervised by Cole Prophet, LPC, and Dr. Angela Harman, Psy.D.
