Clinical Director
I am a licensed art therapist and professional counselor in Oregon. I believe that everyone can benefit from therapeutic support to grow as an individual and develop a greater understanding and connection to themselves, relationships with others, and the environments in which daily life occurs. In my career I have worked with individuals across the lifespan in a variety of settings including psychiatric, medical, and educational. I have experience working with various mental and behavioral health concerns, with particular interest in supportive care for the LGBTQ+ community, supporting life transitions, grief and loss, psychedelic integration, anxiety, and healing relational trauma.
My approach to counseling and supervision is rooted in art therapy and the use of the creative process. Art Therapy is a therapeutic modality that focuses on visual and metaphorical tools that are reflective of human experience. The use of different art media can support going beyond the bounds of familiar and habitual patterns to discover new solutions to the challenges faced – with the possibility of improving cognitive and sensorimotor functions, fostering self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivating emotional resilience, promoting insight, enhancing social skills, reducing and resolving conflicts and distress, and advancing societal and ecological change.
Whether it is in therapy, clinical supervision, or in positions of leadership, my focus is on working collaboratively to meet the present need and support future stability and growth. I do this through building dynamic relationships rooted in presence, trust, and safety. I work to approach each relationship from a trauma-informed framework that is compassionate, socially mindful and grounded in cultural humility.
